I tend to work intuitively and enjoy the process of layering onto wood with variable grains, lino or sometimes combining both materials during the printing stage. There’s also an element of serendipity in this approach & the results are generally, one of a kind.
My inspiration comes from the surrounding environment & patterns of the natural landscape - mangrove habitats, the coastline, found marine detritus left behind by the tide, a grove of trees, the markings of insect life on bark, time worn surfaces.
My background is in printmaking, photography, assemblage & weaving. I am passionate about recycling materials, beachcombing, repurposing discarded objects & looking after the marine environment.
